The Girl At The Bus Stop
Every morning, Ethan waited at the same bus stop before
school. One rainy Tuesday, he noticed a girl standing
nearby without an umbrella. Without saying much, he held
his umbrella over both of them. Her name was Lily.
Days turned into weeks, and their short conversations
became the highlight of Ethan’s mornings.
They talked about music, dreams, and the places they wanted
to visit one day. One afternoon, Lily didn’t show up.
Neither the next day. A week later, Ethan found a note
tucked inside the bus stop bench:
"My family had to move away
suddenly. Thank you for making ordinary mornings feel
special. Maybe our paths will cross again."
Three years later, while walking through a university
campus, Ethan heard a familiar voice behind him.
"Still carrying an umbrella even when it isn’t raining?"
He turned around and smiled.
"Lily?"
Some stories don’t end—they simply pause until the timing
is right.
