Long distance love story
A long distance history that extands to be freely true to the world no matter the difficulties that life and people sometimes brings.
Ema never expected a simple notification to become the start of something important.
It was a rainy evening, and she was sitting by her bedroom window, listening to the soft tapping of raindrops against
the glass.
Her homework was finished, her favorite playlist was playing quietly in the background, and she was scrolling through
social media with no real purpose.
Then a message appeared.
"Hey, I saw your comment on that travel post. You seem like someone who actually enjoys adventures."
Ema smiled. Most messages she received were short, boring, or easy to ignore. But this one felt different.
It wasn't just "hi" or "what's up." It felt like the beginning of a conversation.
"Maybe I do. Depends on the adventure."
A few minutes later, Harris replied.
"Fair answer. What's the best place you've ever visited?"
And just like that, the conversation began. What neither of them realized was that they lived hundreds of kilometers
apart.
Different cities. Different routines. Different lives.
Over the next few days, their messages became longer. They talked about music, favorite foods, dreams for the future,
and funny childhood memories.
Sometimes they would send photos of the view outside their windows. Harris would show sunsets from his city, while Ema
would send pictures of quiet streets and cafés she liked to visit.
Slowly, they started looking forward to each other's messages. Every morning, Ema checked her phone to see if Harris
had written anything overnight.
Every evening, Harris wondered how Ema's day had gone.
One night, after hours of chatting, Harris asked a question.
"Do you ever think it's strange?"
"What?"
"That two people who have never met can end up talking every day?"
Ema stared at the screen for a moment. It was strange. Just a week ago, Harris had been a complete stranger.
Now she found herself smiling whenever his name appeared on her phone.
"Maybe," she typed. "Or maybe some people are meant to meet, even if it's online first."
A few seconds passed. Then Harris replied.
"I like that answer."
Ema felt her heart beat a little faster. Outside, the rain had stopped. The clouds were clearing, and the moonlight was
beginning to shine through her window.
For the first time, she wondered what Harris would be like in person. Not just his messages. Not just his photos. The
real Harris.
Meanwhile, hundreds of kilometers away, Harris was wondering the exact same thing about Ema.
Neither of them knew where this connection would lead. But both of them knew one thing: They didn't want the
conversation to end.
And that was how their long-distance story began.
