Petra Solace finds the amber salt soaked ribbon. The town erased everyone who touched it.

On February 15, 1969, Petra Solace finds the amber salt soaked ribbon inside the bee research apiary.

The amber salt soaked ribbon carries Petra Solace's fingerprint beneath its surface.

At 1:17 a.m., Petra Solace records a weekday missing from every calendar.

The recording predates Petra Solace's birth by forty years.

Then a dead technician asks Petra Solace to look underneath.

Beneath the amber salt soaked ribbon, Petra Solace discovers a numbered human tooth.

The number matches a locked cabinet in the research apiary under Rook Coast.

Inside, Petra Solace finds payroll cards for people nobody remembers.

Each forgotten worker signed the same crooked surname as Petra Solace.

A fresh card lists Petra Solace's shift as beginning tonight.

The lights inside the research apiary under Rook Coast turn violet one row at a time.

Every violet lamp reveals handprints moving beneath the floor while Petra Solace watches.

Petra Solace follows those handprints toward a door painted as concrete.

The door opens onto a copy of the research apiary under Rook Coast filled with warm dust.

A clock in the copied room runs through February 15, 1969 again and again.

At each repetition, the amber salt soaked ribbon appears closer to Petra Solace's chest.

A ledger identifies the copied room as the witness nursery while Petra Solace watches.

The final ledger entry states that the building digests one room each year while Petra Solace watches.

Behind Petra Solace, a nursery cot begins rocking without a child.

The blanket rises. A smaller Petra Solace opens its eyes and points at the amber salt soaked ribbon.
