Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg

His name was Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg.

But his story did not begin with glory.

⸻ As a child, Gjergj was taken far from his homeland by the

powerful Ottoman Empire. Like many sons of Albanian nobles,

he was raised in the Sultan’s court, trained as a soldier,

and taught to serve the very empire that had taken him.

He grew into a warrior of unmatched skill.

He learned to fight with sword and strategy, to command armies,

and to win battles. The Ottomans trusted him.

They gave him power. They believed he was one of them.

But in his heart, Albania never left him.
